Patients are seen daily in the Medical Clinic by appointment. New patients applying
for medical services must prequalify for the clinic. A new patient is eligible for medical services if they are uninsured
and ineligible for Medicaid, Medicare, or Veterans medical benefits and have a household income at or below 150% of the Federal
Poverty Level. To become a new patient at Tileston Health Clinic, call our administrative office at 910-343-8736.

Dietician.

Maureen Drake, Sally Freas and Nancy
Manock are Certified Diabetic Educators.
The Diabetic
Clinic is open on the second Tuesday of every month to provide medical care, monitoring, and counseling for diabetic patients.
A nurse educator makes available information
about the disease, instructing patients on how nutrition, exercise, and medications affect the outcome for controlling the
disease. Podiatry screening, blood work-ups, and other diagnostic tests are also provided.
The
Diabetic Clinic has its own staff of volunteers, including six endocrinologists, twenty other medical professionals and six
administrative staff. In addition, the pharmaceutical companies supply a large
portion of the medications for the patients, either by donations or through the Indigent Care Drug Programs.

Dr Jennifer Askew and Dr Antonio Puente Co-Directors of the Mental Health Clinic
The Mental
Health Clinic is open on the first and third Wednesday nights of each month and uses the same intake process as the other
clinics. Each patient is first seen by the intake staff to determine eligibility for the service.
Patient referrals from the other divisions of the Tileston Clinic are also offered. In 2008, the
active patient roster for the clinic included approximately 95 patients who were seen by the psychologist/pharmacist team
for a total of approximately 100 visits. The clinic also has approximately 15 other staff members who provide
the administrative functions and additional mental health counseling services for the Wednesday night clinics with services
available in English, Spanish, and Portuguese. These volunteers have enhanced the counseling appointment
availability at the clinic and have added exponentially to the available appointment times for the clinic. On
any given clinic night, the staff sees about 35 patients for evaluation, assessment, counseling, and/or treatment.

Podiatry Clinic, however, is not limited to diabetic patients. Clinic starts around 5:30 PM, and the doctor treats about
four-five patients. Patients must first be seen in either the Medical Clinic or in the Diabetic Clinic before service

Pharmacy
Over
25,000 Prescriptions Were Dispensed Here Last Year.

Pharmaceutical Services are provided to all our patients
as prescribed by our doctors. In 2008, we dispensed more than 18,344 prescriptions to our patients. The retail
value of those drugs was more than $1,686,210. Many of our medicines are donated, either by community physicians or
by the pharmaceutical companies. A small percentage of our medications are bought through the New Hanover Regional Medical
Center. Again, through our partnership, the hospital sells us these medications at their costs.
